He worked as a researcher at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) and as an innovation management consultant. He holds an Engineering and PhD degree from ETH Zurich.
For example, there's maybe a page or two explanation of the Traveling Salesman Problem that gives a decent overview of the problem and why it's important. I found the exercises very useful for putting the ideas into action. Tschirky observe that "Rare are those companies that actively seize the challenge of designing their management approaches and organizational structures in a way that takes competitive advantage of discontinuous technologies or that actively and constantly generates radical innovations. And since I had not played since 1980, I really liked the easy three chord songs. However outside my window there is a joyful abundance of spring migration arrivals, and I'd much rather be learning about a songbird or two. Hats off to the authors for an excellent investigation, and for setting the record straight. I am eager for the next book based on the cliffhanger ending.
