This is a book about a MAN who PLAYED baseball-- not a "baseball book."
I give it a four-star rating only because the writing is at times a little dry and professorial--but only a little. The reviews are biased as hell, but usually right on. He did not foresee the Russian bond default in 1998 and Hermitage Capital lost 90% of its capital. This book tells the story of California and it's geology in way that connects it with real life. For those interested, I'll list what I think are the best ones: "Moss Rock", "Tannehill Ironworks trail", several trails at Ruffner (e.g., "Quarry trail") and Oak Mountain (e.g., "Peavine Falls"), "Boulder Canyon Loop," "Hurricane Creek Park Loop," "Sumatanga Red Trail," and that's it. It is a truly delightful and exceptional literary achievement by a novelist whose trademark is a graceful old school charm that's so rare to find these days. Most texts really don't delve into the practical side of actually "doing" marketing in a real business. Sh
